WeddingWire Review Guide

weddingwire.com

WeddingWire is a wedding vendor marketplace run by The Knot Worldwide (TKWW), where couples and other clients review the venues, photographers, caterers and other vendors they hired. Vendors manage their WeddingWire Storefront, and their Storefront on The Knot, through one WeddingPro account. Both sites follow the same TKWW user review policy.

Who uses WeddingWire

Wedding professionals such as venues, photographers, videographers, DJs, caterers, planners, florists and hair and makeup artists, and the engaged couples who compare them. Reviews come from verified clients of the vendor, not from wedding guests.

Claim your profile

  1. WeddingPro, TKWW's site for vendors, offers a free account with no credit card required, with paid Storefronts for more placement.
  2. WeddingWire says it does not remove free listings unless the company is out of business, so your business may already be listed. The help pages we checked do not describe a separate claim process; WeddingPro support (support@weddingpro.com) handles account questions.
  3. After you log in to WeddingPro, a task checklist walks you through setting up your Storefronts.
  4. Free and Starter vendors must meet setup requirements before a Storefront is published: business description, contact person, email and address, a minimum number of photos by category (for example 20 for venues and photographers, 5 for DJs and videographers, 10 for most others), basic pricing, and answers to all FAQs that apply.
  5. Once the requirements are met on both WeddingWire and The Knot, WeddingWire says Storefronts are reviewed and published within 24 hours.
  6. To change contact details later, log in and use the Business Information section under the Storefront tab.

Replying to reviews

Log in, open the Reviews tab on your dashboard, and click 'reply' under the review. In the WeddingPro app, tap Reviews in the bottom bar, tap the blue Reply text under the review, type your response and tap Reply to publish; the response appears on your Storefront. The TKWW review policy describes review responses as a premium feature for paid vendors.

  • TKWW recommends that eligible vendors respond to every review, positive or negative.
  • Responses must follow the same content rules as reviews, and TKWW tells the vendor the reason if it removes a response.
  • The Reviews tab also lets you request reviews by email from your account or share a personal review link.

Review rules

In our own words. The official page is the rule that applies.

  • Only verified clients may review: a party to the vendor's contract, someone with proof of payment, or the couple if their names are on the contract or payment. Wedding guests may not review.
  • The event must be wedding-related, and a review cannot focus only on a tour, tasting, interview or trial; reviews are accepted from the time someone becomes a client until two years after the event.
  • Positive, neutral and negative reviews are all allowed if they follow the policy, and TKWW may ask either side for documents to confirm eligibility.
  • Not allowed: profanity, sexually explicit content, hate or discrimination, harassment or threats, private identifying information, protected intellectual property, duplicate content, spam, and statements shown to be false by objective documents.
  • Review photos may not show contracts, messages or other mostly text documents, and collages are limited to two images.
  • Vendors may not restrict reviews (for example with non-disparagement clauses), review themselves, arrange reviews from non-clients, collect several reviews from one client, or offer anything of value for a review with a set sentiment.
  • Reviews imported from other sites such as Google can be removed only all at once, and TKWW does not take disputes on them.

Reporting a review

WeddingWire's own process, step by step.

  1. Vendors get one dispute per review. Log in to the WeddingPro dashboard, choose the WeddingWire tab, open Reviews, find the review and select the Dispute button below it.
  2. Attach documents that support the facts you say are wrong, such as a contract, emails or text messages; statements of opinion are not investigated.
  3. The reviewer may be told the review is under evaluation but does not see your reasons. TKWW may hide the review during the evaluation and gives both sides 10 calendar days to send requested documents.
  4. TKWW acts only if the reviewer was not a client, the event was not eligible, or the review breaks the content rules; differences of opinion, minor errors and reviews posted more than 12 months ago are not accepted for dispute, and the decision is final.

Official guidelines: wedding-wire.zendesk.com

Tips

  • Ask every client for a review after the wedding, not only the happiest ones.
  • Reply to negative reviews calmly, acknowledge the concern, and explain what you did or will do.
  • Keep your contracts and client messages; they are your evidence if you ever need to dispute a review.
  • Ask clients for separate, original reviews on WeddingWire and The Knot rather than the same text on both.
  • Update photos, pricing and FAQs regularly so your Storefront stays current.

About the numbers

  1. AI citations: the share of answers from AI assistants that cite a page on weddingwire.com, out of 23,227 answers in the last 90 days, to questions about the businesses in our directory ("what do customers say about ...") and to category questions ("best dentist in ..."). Search-result and help pages on a review site are not counted. As of October 30, 2026. ↩
  2. Cited by AI, by industry: for each industry (a directory category, or the national brands filed under an industry such as e-commerce), the share of AI answers about businesses in that industry that cite a page on weddingwire.com; n is the number of answers in that industry (last 90 days; only industries with at least 20 answers). As of October 30, 2026. ↩
  3. Site reach: the estimated monthly organic search visits to weddingwire.com (DataForSEO Labs) and its Domain Rating (Ahrefs, 0 to 100). These are third-party estimates for the whole domain, not figures from WeddingWire. As of October 2026. ↩
