Directory and Score

A grade for every business, earned from evidence

The Grades.com directory on reviews.grades.com has a profile for every listed business and "Best of" rankings by category and place. Each business gets the Grades.com Score: one number and a letter grade, built from its reviews on every site, how it answers them and what AI assistants say about it.

The Grades.com Score

Four parts, each shown with its points

The score runs from 0 to 100, with grades from A+ (90 and up) to F (under 40). Every profile shows the points per part, so a business can see what moves it.

Reviews, 45

Rating across every tracked site (weighted so a handful of reviews doesn't beat hundreds), how many reviews and how recent, measured against fixed targets that are the same for every business, and how often the owner replies.

Presence, 10

Reviews on the review sites that matter in the category, and recent activity on each.

AI reputation, 15

What ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude say about the business, and whether they recognize it at all.

Profile completeness, 30

A claimed listing, logo, photos, hours, a description, services, a category, website, phone, social links, a confirmed name, address and phone, and the year founded.

Fewer than 3 reviews: no letter grade yet. Until the AI check has run, the score is marked provisional and is never ranked.

Rankings, profiles and badges

"Best of" rankings that can't be bought

Ranked pages such as "Best dentists in Hoboken" order businesses on the evidence parts of the score only: reviews, presence and AI reputation. Completeness is an entry requirement (confirmed address and phone, hours, a category and a working website), not points, so filling in a profile never pushes a business up the list. Nobody can pay for a place.

  • A page is ranked only when enough different businesses qualify
  • The method, data sources and review policy are published
  • Any business can ask for a correction or removal

A profile for every business

Each profile shows the score, ratings and review counts per site, a short, neutral summary of what reviewers praise and complain about, frequently asked questions answered from the reviews, opening hours, and similar businesses nearby. Links to the business and to review sites point readers to the source.

  • Summaries never quote health details from a review
  • Complaints are reported in proportion, never inflated
  • Search and answer engines may read profiles; AI training crawlers may not

Badges for your own website

A business graded B or better can embed a live grade badge that links to its profile. Businesses ranked on a "Best of" page can embed that badge too. Badges are hosted images that always show the current grade or rank, stamped with the month or year, so an old claim can't linger. A badge is never a condition for ranking.
