Who uses Vagaro
Salons, barbers, nail and tattoo shops, spas, med spas, massage and physical therapy practices, and gyms, yoga, pilates, and dance studios, from independent providers to multi-location businesses. Reviewers are customers signed in to a profile in the business's customer list.
Claim your profile
- Start a free trial from the Vagaro business (Pro) site.
- Vagaro says it will handle the switch for businesses moving over from another system.
Replying to reviews
Vagaro businesses reply to reviews from the Review Management report (announced as the "Customer Reviews" report). The reply is public, appears below the review on the business listing page, and the customer is notified by email and push notification.
- On a computer, tablet, Pay Desk, or PayPro, go to Reports, then Review Management, select Reply, write the response, and select Post Response. On a phone, start from More, then Reports, then Review Management.
- Owners can edit or delete their own replies (Action, then Edit Response or Delete Response) but cannot modify or remove a customer's review.
- The Online Appointment Rules setting Only Allow Reviews from Verified Customers limits reviews to customers who were checked out or whose appointment was marked completed.
Review rules
In our own words. The official page is the rule that applies.
- To post a review, a customer must be signed in to a profile that is in the business's customer list, and owners and employees cannot review their own business.
- A business cannot decide whether a review is removed; Vagaro evaluates the issues a business raises.
- Vagaro says it removes reviews for only four reasons: a personal attack on a member of the business, harsh or inappropriate language, a reviewer who was not a customer of the business, or a breach of Vagaro's user agreement.
Reporting a review
Vagaro's own process, step by step.
- Businesses cannot edit or remove a customer's review; the customer who wrote it can edit or delete it from their own Vagaro account.
- To request removal of a review, Vagaro's help center points businesses to its Business Review Standards article, and Vagaro evaluates the issue against those standards.
Tips
- Reply promptly and personally, using the reviewer's name rather than a canned response.
- Stay calm and empathetic, and keep replies factual, since future customers will read them.
- Own real mistakes, apologize, and offer to resolve the issue offline.
- Thank customers who leave positive reviews and mention specifics.
- Turn on the verified-customer review setting so that only customers who were checked out or completed an appointment can review you.
