Who uses Sortlist
Agencies and other service providers and the companies (project owners) that hire them. Clients decide which providers they review; reviewers who are neither providers nor project owners must give an email address, which Sortlist uses to verify the review.
Claim your profile
- Go to the provider page and choose "Register as an agency".
- Type your company name in the search bar; if it appears, choose "Join", otherwise choose "Create".
- Add basic details: phone number, website, email address and services.
- Add your headquarters and other offices; a valid Google Business Profile validates an office automatically.
- Add case studies and a portfolio, and save as you go.
Replying to reviews
A Sortlist help article says providers are offered a right to reply to each and every review. Sortlist's pricing page also lists responding to client reviews among the profile features in its plan comparison.
- Sortlist's terms say it does not remove reviews that reflect users' genuine experiences, and requests to deactivate a provider profile because of negative reviews will in principle not be honored.
Review rules
In our own words. The official page is the rule that applies.
- The terms require reviews to be honest, accurate, relevant, genuine, independent and unbiased, and not misleading or fraudulent.
- Sortlist may, but does not have to, check reviews for authenticity and edit or take down ones it considers fraudulent, misleading or otherwise non-compliant.
- Authentic reviews, positive or negative, are not removed; a review contested through the report channel is investigated first.
- Agencies can get reviews three ways: a review link they share, an "invite to review" email sent through Sortlist, or an existing review from another site added with its source named. In each case the client confirms the review through Sortlist's email.
Reporting a review
Sortlist's own process, step by step.
- Use the "Report" button next to the review to ask for it to be removed.
- Sortlist then starts an investigation.
- A review is removed only if Sortlist finds it non-authentic, non-compliant with the Review Requirements or terms, or legally problematic.
- For reviews that may be illegal, Sortlist's help article points to a dedicated form.
Tips
- Ask every client for a review after a project ends, using the platform's invitation tools.
- Reply to critical reviews politely and factually.
- Only add outside reviews that are real and name the correct source.
- Keep office details, services and portfolio accurate.

About the numbers
