Who uses Porch

Home service professionals (handymen, plumbers, electricians, remodelers and others) who receive project requests through Porch, and homeowners who hire and review them.

Claim your profile

  1. Porch's pro support form lists 'Claiming business profile' as a request type.
  2. Fill in the form with your contact details and business name, say whether you are the business owner, choose the request type, and send it.
  3. Porch's pro terms say pros agree to promptly complete their profile and keep their information accurate, complete and up to date.

Replying to reviews

The Porch pages we checked do not describe a way for pros to reply publicly to reviews.

  • Porch's pro terms require pros to respond to homeowner service requests in a timely manner; this concerns project requests, not reviews.

Review rules

In our own words. The official page is the rule that applies.

  • Porch's terms of use allow a review of a home service provider only from someone who received that provider's services first-hand.
  • Reviewers may not accept anything of value from the provider in exchange for a review.
  • The provider itself, anyone affiliated with the provider or with a competitor, and relatives of the provider or its staff may not review that provider.
  • Reviewers certify that their review is honest and factually accurate and that they received no compensation for it.
  • Porch says it may screen, refuse, remove or change what users submit at its discretion, but is not obliged to do so.
  • Porch's pro terms say that when a pro includes a customer's contact details in project information, Porch may contact that customer to ask for reviews.

Reporting a review

Porch's own process, step by step.

  1. Porch's published terms do not describe a dispute process for reviews; they reserve Porch's right to remove or modify user submissions.
  2. Pros can contact Porch through the pro support form or at support@porch.com, which its contact page lists as help for pros.

Tips

  • Keep your profile complete and your contact details accurate, as Porch's pro terms require.
  • Respond quickly to project requests; Porch shows homeowners a pro's response rate.
  • Do not offer anything of value in exchange for a review; Porch's terms forbid reviewers from accepting it.
