Who uses MerchantCircle
Local merchants of many kinds (contractors, real estate agents, car dealers, insurance agents, locksmiths and others) who want a free listing and leads, and consumers looking for local services, advice and deals.
Claim your profile
- Start from the Claim my business button on the merchant page or the sign-up page and create a free account with your name, email, password and ZIP code.
- Enter your business name and phone number and say whether you are the owner or claiming on behalf of the business.
- Pick your business from the matching listings, or add a new one with its address, phone, description and website.
- Choose a plan: the Basic listing is free; the merchant page advertises a Premium listing at $30 a month (shown against a regular $40).
- Once claimed, add photos, hours, contact details and information about your products and services.
Replying to reviews
MerchantCircle's merchant page says the free Basic listing lets a business monitor and respond to reviews. The pages we checked do not describe the steps for posting a reply.
- MerchantCircle's own FAQ suggests that negative reviews may call for thoughtful responses that address the customer's concerns.
- Review replies are not listed as a paid-only feature; the Premium plan adds placement, extra locations, no competitor ads and a verified badge.
Review rules
In our own words. The official page is the rule that applies.
- The terms of use say any ratings and reviews of service professionals a user provides must be accurate, current and truthful to the best of the user's knowledge.
- MerchantCircle may refuse further use of its services to anyone it has reasonable grounds to suspect of giving untrue or inaccurate information.
- Content may not be libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive or threatening, or encourage illegal conduct.
- Content may not advertise, solicit money or offer goods or services.
- Anything users post is treated as public and may be reused by MerchantCircle under a broad license.
- MerchantCircle says it may delete content that breaks these rules; users must be at least 18.
Reporting a review
MerchantCircle's own process, step by step.
- The MerchantCircle pages we checked do not describe a way to report or dispute an individual review.
- Businesses can reach support through the Contact Us form or the support email linked as Merchant Support.
- Copyright complaints go to MerchantCircle's legal department under the notice procedure set out in the terms of use.
Tips
- Claim your page so you can keep details current and see new reviews.
- Answer negative reviews with a calm, specific response that addresses the customer's concern.
- Fill out your description, hours and services so customers find what they need.
- Ask customers for honest reviews; MerchantCircle's terms require reviews to be truthful.
