Who uses Facebook
Businesses, brands, organizations and public figures with a Facebook Page. Anyone with a Facebook account can create a Page or help manage one if they have access to it.
Claim your profile
- Log in to Facebook, click Pages in the left menu, choose Create Page, select Public Page and click Get Started.
- Enter a Page name and category, and optionally a bio.
- Add details such as contact information, location and hours, then profile and cover photos and the action button.
- After creating the Page, you can manage who has access to it.
Replying to reviews
Facebook's help pages we checked do not describe steps for a Page to reply publicly to a Recommendation. They do explain how admins control Recommendations: switch into the Page, open Settings & privacy, then Settings, then Page and tagging, and use the toggle that allows others to view and leave reviews on the Page.
- Turning Recommendations off removes the Page's rating and reviews.
- If a Page previously had reviews, Recommendations were turned on automatically.
- Recommendations appear under the Page's Reviews tab, which may be under a More option.
- Facebook says people should not recommend a business whose Page they help manage.
Review rules
In our own words. The official page is the rule that applies.
- Recommendations that do not follow the Community Standards may be removed.
- Facebook asks that recommendations focus on the business's product or service and be based on personal experience.
- Facebook does not verify that reviewers bought the product or used the service.
- Only Pages with Recommendations turned on may show a rating, a Page may have no rating until it has at least 5 reviews, and only publicly shared recommendations count toward the rating.
- The Community Standards on spam prohibit buying, selling or exchanging engagement and offering anything of monetary value in exchange for engagement.
- The Community Standards on inauthentic behavior target networks of fake accounts or Pages used to deceive people.
Reporting a review
Facebook's own process, step by step.
- Click Reviews under Details, below the Page cover photo.
- Click See all next to Recent reviews.
- Click Options at the top right of the Recommendation you want to report and select Report post.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Facebook reviews the report and may remove the Recommendation if it breaks the Community Standards.
- A Recommendation that contains only a star rating cannot be reported.
Tips
- Turn Recommendations on only if you want the Page to show reviews, and know that turning them off removes the rating.
- Do not offer cash or other items of monetary value in exchange for engagement or reviews.
- Report only Recommendations that appear to break the Community Standards.

About the numbers
- AI citations: the share of answers from AI assistants that cite a page on facebook.com, out of 23,227 answers in the last 90 days, to questions about the businesses in our directory ("what do customers say about ...") and to category questions ("best dentist in ...").
