Who uses Caring.com

Senior living communities, nursing homes, adult day centers, geriatric care managers and senior care agencies (in-home care, home health and hospice) are listed. Reviewers are seniors and their families with firsthand experience of the provider in the past three years.

Claim your profile

  1. To get a community or agency listed, call Caring.com's directory team at (888) 808-0453 or submit the listing online through the partner contact form.
  2. If the business already has a profile, send changes to partnersuccess@caring.com.
  3. Caring.com also offers enhanced listings for partners, with new-review email alerts, review request campaigns through its Partner Portal and a reviews-by-phone service; its directory specialists explain the options.

Replying to reviews

Any business that receives reviews can respond, not only advertisers. Partners can respond from the links in their New Review Alert emails, responses can be sent through six integrated reputation management platforms, and any provider can email reviews@caring.com to respond to a review. The Caring Reviews Team approves each response before it appears under the review.

  • Each response must include the author's name, job title and an email or phone number for the reviews team; these are not published unless the author puts them in the response text.
  • Responses may not be used for solicitation or promotion, and should not debate or disparage the reviewer.
  • Caring.com may reject or remove any response at any time.
  • To qualify for the Caring Stars award, a provider must have a published response to every 1-star and 2-star review and at least one response to a review of any rating.

Review rules

In our own words. The official page is the rule that applies.

  • Reviews must be original (not published on other sites) and based on firsthand experience with the provider within three years, and the reviewer states the nature of that experience.
  • Reviewers need a valid email or phone number. They choose a display name and may stay anonymous; their relationship to the provider is shown.
  • Employees, former employees, paid representatives, competitors and anyone with a conflict of interest (including vendors and paid reviewers) may not review. A narrow exception covers resident-owners of some retirement communities, whose ownership must be disclosed.
  • Unlawful, defamatory, obscene, threatening, hateful or offensive content, advertising and solicitations are not allowed.
  • Reviews may not reveal another person's name, address, phone number, email or other identifying details, and must stay relevant to the senior living or care services offered.
  • Job inquiries are not reviews, and reviews should not include website links, emails or phone numbers.
  • Caring.com says it does not accept payment to publish or remove reviews, no longer runs incentivized review programs, and does not let businesses post reviews or testimonials on their own listings.

Reporting a review

Caring.com's own process, step by step.

  1. Email reviews@caring.com with specific details that support your view that a review is factually inaccurate, libelous or outside the guidelines.
  2. Caring.com says it typically responds to these messages within one to two business days.
  3. Partners' New Review Alert emails also include a tool to contest a review.
  4. Caring.com may remove reviews for fact-based errors, guideline concerns, a change of business ownership, a reviewer's own request or a legal mandate.

Tips

  • Respond to every review, and especially to low ratings, with a calm and appreciative tone.
  • Never share health details or other private information about a resident or client in a public reply.
  • Move specific concerns to a phone call or email instead of debating them publicly.
  • Ask all clients and families for reviews, without offering anything in return.

About the numbers

  1. AI citations: the share of answers from AI assistants that cite a page on caring.com, out of 23,227 answers in the last 90 days, to questions about the businesses in our directory ("what do customers say about ...") and to category questions ("best dentist in ..."). Search-result and help pages on a review site are not counted. As of October 30, 2026. ↩
  2. Cited by AI, by industry: for each industry (a directory category, or the national brands filed under an industry such as e-commerce), the share of AI answers about businesses in that industry that cite a page on caring.com; n is the number of answers in that industry (last 90 days; only industries with at least 20 answers). As of October 30, 2026. ↩
  3. Site reach: the estimated monthly organic search visits to caring.com (DataForSEO Labs) and its Domain Rating (Ahrefs, 0 to 100). These are third-party estimates for the whole domain, not figures from Caring.com. As of October 2026. ↩
