Who uses Bark
Service professionals who receive customer enquiries through the Bark Marketplace, and the customers who contact, hire and review them.
Claim your profile
- The Bark pages we checked do not describe claiming an existing listing; professionals manage their own profile from Profile in the top navigation or at bark.com/professional/profile-management.
- The profile has six sections: About, Credentials, Services & pricing, Reviews, Photos and videos, and Location; each counts toward a completeness score.
- Add a clear profile picture and a description, give each service real detail and a price, and add photos of finished work.
- Bark Verified (photo ID with face recognition, background check, fraud checks, and business registration for registered companies) is included in paid plans only and is started from the Credentials section with Get Bark Verified.
Replying to reviews
Bark's help center says there is no public reply feature on reviews at this time.
- The help article describes reporting an unfair review, not replying to it.
Review rules
In our own words. The official page is the rule that applies.
- Bark bans fake reviews, meaning reviews that do not reflect a genuine experience, including reviews posted by the seller, by people who never interacted with the seller, or by software such as bots.
- Reviews that were paid for or otherwise incentivized are banned if the incentive is not made clear to readers.
- Professionals may not pay or otherwise incentivize users to review them, including with vouchers, discounts or refunds, and may not add incentivized external reviews to their profile.
- Reviews may not contain offensive, intimidating or abusive language, anyone's personal data or private information, or spam, promotional or irrelevant content.
- Only buyers with a confirmed interaction with the professional through Bark can leave a review.
- Imported Google reviews require a verified Google Business Profile linked to the account, and Bark does not edit or delete them.
- A review can be removed only if it breaches the review guidelines, for example if it is fake, abusive or unrelated to the service; it cannot be removed just because it is negative.
Reporting a review
Bark's own process, step by step.
- Go to the review on your profile and select "Report review".
- Choose a reason and submit; Bark's team assesses the report against its guidelines.
- Bark's Customer Experience team first checks whether the report is valid, for example abusive language or a reviewer who is not a genuine customer.
- Reports made because the professional disagrees with a fair negative opinion count as abuse of the feature; Bark reinstates the review and can warn the seller.
- If Bark applies a sanction to a seller, the seller can appeal within 30 days by answering the email that notified them of the sanction, with a detailed account of events and any supporting evidence.
- Complaints about content removal or restrictions, or account suspension, can be emailed to team@bark.com; Bark aims to review them within 7 days.
Tips
- Ask for a review after every finished job, while the work is fresh, and make the request short and direct.
- Import existing Google reviews if you have a verified Google Business Profile, so your profile does not start empty.
- Never offer discounts, refunds or other rewards in return for a review.
- Report only reviews that actually break the guidelines; repeatedly flagging legitimate negative reviews can bring a warning.

About the numbers
- AI citations: the share of answers from AI assistants that cite a page on bark.com, out of 23,227 answers in the last 90 days, to questions about the businesses in our directory ("what do customers say about ...") and to category questions ("best dentist in ...").
